Nazka – Adopted!

In early January 2023, Nazka's owner reached out to us, asking for help in finding Nazka a new home. Although this mare was well loved, the owner was having some life complications and needed to make some changes. 

Nazka was reported to be a beautiful, healthy, easy going registered Canadian mare. She is 19 yrs old, stands about 16.1hh and had been a successful broodmare at one point in her life. She'd had 3 months of professional training so needed an experienced rider.

We were mostly looking for a companion home with some light riding, and felt strongly that Nazka no longer needed to have foals. She'd done her duty to the breed; as such, we were hoping for a home that would not try to breed her. 

This was an owner involved re-homing meaning Nazka's owner was not in a rush to mover her. We posted to our Facebook page, shared it widely, and were overwhelmed with requests for more information. We received two incredibly strong adoption applications and, after review by our board and Nazka's owner, selected a home that seemed like a perfect fit. 

With winter Quebec/Ontario weather it took a wee bit of time to move Nazka to her new home, arriving early February.
