Is the address above where the horse will be kept. *

Are you willing to accept a horse straight from auction? *
Are you able to transport/haul? *
Please outline the types of horses you can foster. *
Have you ever owned/leased a horse? *
What level of rider do you consider yourself? *
If you are not currently a member of any associations focused on Canadian Horses, are you prepared to join one, or more?
You agree to humanely take care of all animals which includes providing shelter from the elements (e.g., rain, snow, sun), keeping fresh water accessible at all times, feeding a sufficient amount of wholesome food (e.g., grain, pellet feed) at least every 12 hours, in addition to allowing for pasture grazing which should be accessible at all times (i.e., “free-will” basis); if the latter is not possible (e.g., animals in paddocks) then more frequent feedings will be required. Slow feeders are also acceptable. *
You agree to allow CHRRS to inspect the premises where the animal(s) will be, or are currently being kept, at any time to ascertain that the animal is well cared for. Under normal circumstances CHRRS will give prior notification of its intent to inspect, but reserves the right to make unannounced visits as it deems necessary. *
Your fostered equine, as well as its unborn foal in the event of the foster being a pregnant mare, is the property of CHRRS and may not be sold, leased, given away, assigned or otherwise disposed of, under any circumstance. *
You agree to not move the fostered equine, temporarily or permanently, without the express written consent of CHRRS, unless the fostered equine is in direct or imminent danger as a result of unforeseen natural disaster (e.g., hurricane, blizzards) or unforeseen drastic change to the foster care facility which renders it unsafe (e.g., barn fire, fence damage). You may move the equine to a safe location on an emergency basis and agree to notify CHRRS of the physical location within 48 hours. You are permitted to transport the foster equine for purposes such as veterinary care. *
Many foster homes often end up adopting their fostered equine. You agree that you have two weeks from the time the equine is placed up for adoption to decide if you want to adopt the equine and three days to submit the application for adoption. After that time, the equine is available for adoption to the first approved adopter. *
You will not breed your fostered equine nor cause it to be branded. *
You agree that if you desire to cease fostering an equine for CHRRS, you will give us a written notice at least thirty (30) days prior to the date the equine must leave to allow us time to locate another foster home and make transport arrangements. *
In order to help us find an adoptive home, you agree to keep us up to date with current information and photos of your fostered equine and allow potential adopters access to your fostered equine at our request. *
If you bring in a foster equine that is in need of weight gain or recovery from an injury, you, along with a licensed veterinarian and the foster coordinator for CHRRS, will set reasonable goals to get the equine to a recommended weight and/or healthy condition. *
You agree to notify CHRRS as to any behavioural or health problems of the fostered equine. CHRRS reserves the right to determine the proper course of action to take upon such notification. You may not euthanize any equine owned/overseen by CHRRS without the express consent of CHRRS. *
As a foster home, you agree to accept responsibility for basic care (e.g., shelter, food, water) according to the fostered equine’s needs. You agree to discuss all veterinary and hoof care requirements with CHRRS, and will notify CHRRS immediately in case of emergencies involving your fostered equine. CHRRS takes all responsibility for veterinary and hoof care but this care must be done with prior approval; CHRRS will NOT pay any vet or farrier bills that have not been discussed with the foster coordinator. *
If you fail to comply with any of the statements in this agreement, or if CHRRS determines that the situation is undesirable for the well-being of the fostered equine(s) according to the terms of this agreement, CHRRS will make a reasonable attempt to assist you in meeting these terms. Should such attempts fail to correct the situation, you agree to return the horse to CHRRS. Should the equine be with foal, both will be returned to CHRRS. *
CHRRS makes no representations or guarantees about the soundness, abilities, temperament or health of the fostered equine. You agree to accept all responsibility for any action or lien resulting from any action, directly or indirectly involving your fostered equine while it is in your care, and you agree that neither CHRRS nor its employees or agents will be liable for any damages or injury caused to you or any third person by your fostered equine once you receive delivery of the equine, including but not limited to damages or injuries caused by the fact that the equine does not behave or perform in the manner expected. If any third person makes a claim against CHRRS or any of its employees or agents as a result of any conduct of the equine in your possession, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless CHRRS., its directors, officers, employees and agents from any such claim, including costs and attorney’s fee resulting from such claim. *
Neither CHRRS nor its employees or agents will be liable for any damages or injury caused to you or any third person by your adopted horse once you receive delivery of said horse, including but not limited to damages or injuries caused by the fact that the horse does not behave or perform in the manner expected. If any third person makes a claim against CHRRS or any of its agents as a result of any conduct of the horse in your possession, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless CHRRS, its directors, officers, and agents from any such claim, including any/all costs resulting from such claim. *
This agreement shall be legally binding upon you, your heirs, estate, assigns, including all minor children, and personal representatives and it shall be interpreted according to the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, being CHRRS’ principle location. Any dispute under this agreement shall be litigated in, and venue shall be, the British Columbia Provincial Court. If any clause, phrase, or word is in conflict with Provincial law, then that single part is null and void. *
You understand that CHRRS will immediately proceed with legal action against you should any attempt be made on your part to deny immediate access to the equine upon a request by a representative of CHRRS or for any violation of any terms of this agreement. Should you deny or fail to provide immediate access to your fostered equine when requested you will bear all costs of enforcement of this agreement. *
Opening your home to one or more of our horses helps far more than you may realize. Should your application be accepted by CHRRS, you will be approved to foster equines at the above barn address and you will be a part of our foster home program, giving horses a safe and secure home until they can be adopted. This agreement will remain in effect from the date of your signature until termination, though we do reserve the right to ask for an updated form.. *
I fully acknowlege that I have read and accept all the terms and conditions, outlined in this form, that pertain to the foster of horses on behalf of the Canadian Horse Rescue and Re-Homing Society. *
